Just wanted to chime in on your photos of the lady slipper: I too am from Prince George and I have found them in some of the oddest places around the bowl area. Probably one of the easiest places to find them is on the right hand side of Pidherny Rd, just after it turns to gravel. I've been finding them through late May to late June there the past few years and have some photos of them.
